Version 9.* removed employee names on Calendar>Day. This was the best feature of Amelia for us, as we could see there free employees for a given slot at a glance so we could assign these slots to appointments requested by users via phone or on site. We would really appreciate to have them back asap as the Calendar view is now really confusing - see attachement.
we need it please
Agree. The employee’s name should definitely be visible on the calendar, something like in my screenshot.
This functionality is critically important for our business. Otherwise, we won’t be able to migrate to and use Amelia.

Same for customers names not displayed anymore in the calendar
The employee name column is necessary to prevent one employee from encroaching on another’s space (as in the previous version).
we also have this massive problem. Absolute downgrade while missing this column.
I have deliberately held off on updating to version 9 and have now reviewed the new release on a staging environment. After testing the redesigned calendar in detail, I have to say that I am quite shocked by the result and, in its current form, I cannot work with it.
We operate a space rental business (co-working rooms), where each “employee” in Amelia represents a physical room. In previous versions, the calendar allowed a clear, column-based overview: one column per resource (room), enabling us to instantly see availability across all rooms. This functionality is now effectively gone.
In the current version, appointments are distributed across the calendar randomly. The result is that the overview has become extremely difficult to interpret at a glance. For our use case, this is not just inconvenient — it renders the calendar practically unusable.
Our core requirement is very simple: We need to see, within seconds, which room is available at a given time (often on very short notice, e.g. “is room X free in 20 minutes?”). The previous layout supported this perfectly. The current one does not.
To be very clear:
In its current form, the backend calendar is functionally useless for our operational needs.
I am very sure there are a lot of users affected by this, especially those managing physical resources (rooms, equipment, etc.) rather than individual staff schedules.
Therefore, I would like to make the following requests:
Reintroduce (or offer as an option) a resource-based column view. A layout where each employee/resource is displayed in a fixed column would immediately restore usability.
Allow configurable default calendar view (Day / Week / Month). At the moment, the calendar defaults to month views, which are not suitable for our workflow. We need the ability to set “Day view” as the default when opening the calendar.
Reintroduce a direct day-selection dropdown in the calendar. Previously, it was possible to quickly jump to a specific day via a dropdown. This was extremely efficient for daily operations and is currently missing.
These changes are not minor improvements—they are essential for operational usability in environments like ours.
Rolled back to the previous version because of lack of employee breakdown and cant see clients name - system pointless with it - now moving to a new system because of it

We have reverted back to version 8.7 and hope for a corrected update soon!

It would be great if you added a Duration field to the admin booking modal. Currently, it’s impossible to adjust time for different hair types without messy ‘time blocks’. This is a must-have for salons!

Hi everyone, great news - the employee column view is back! 🎉
You can now switch your calendar to “By employees” view, where each employee gets their own dedicated column in the Day view, giving you a clear overview of availability at a glance - similar like in v8.
Hope this resolves the concerns and makes updating to v9 a smooth experience!

Hello! Thank a lot. At the moment there is only one thing missing. In the old “by employees” view the customer names where visible in the Overview. No only the Service name is visible. can you fix this or send me a custom code I can implement as mu-plugin to fix this? Thx.

Hi, you can customize this in the Filters section. Just check information yoiu want to be displayed on the calendar in ‘Appointment title’ section. Hope this helps!
